Welcome to the world of cartoons at Fendi spring 2017. Manga culture inspired the look of the models on the catwalk. “And there are also elements of rock and roll,” said hair stylist Sam McKnight, who created different looks using many pins in a color palette that ranged from golden and pink to blue, red and orange. Some of these pins were round, others were squared. But all were fun and looked like candy on the models’ hair. “There are elements of punk and candy in the makeup,” said makeup artist Peter Philips. What stood out in the makeup were the glittered lips, an effect that Philips created thanks to a special product called Ben Nye Glitter Glue. This represented the candy element of the makeup, whereas the makeup on the eyes was the punk element. “It’s a broken-up eyeliner,” explained Philips. “I use the Pro Liner to create the black contour of the eye shape, which is stretched to the outer corners with black gel.”
