MILAN — Makeup artist Peter Philips took a cue from the coral-, orange- and peach-colored palettes in Fendi’s futuristic spring 2014 fashion collection for the hue applied to models’ lips backstage before the show.
He used Make Up For Ever’s coral-orange shade of Rouge Artist Intense.
"It's got a great texture and a vibrant, synthetic-chemical color while being pastel-based," said Philips, who also drew the brand’s Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil on models’ mouths.
For their top eyelids, he used Chanel Makeup Stylo Yeux Waterproof in black and MAC Cosmetics Fluidline gel. Top lashes were curled and tinted with Chanel Inimitable Intense black mascara, while eyebrows were groomed.
Also using Chanel products, skin was buffed to a "neutral, semi-matte finish," described Philips, and some models’ cheeks were given a blush.
Meanwhile, hairstylist Sam McKnight accented the beauty look with short black wigs — trimmed on each model’s head — with low-hanging bangs. The ends of tresses were straightened with a flat iron.
Product-wise, McKnight used Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray.
Models’ nails were varnished with Zoya polish in the pink Avril color and sealed with a matte top coat.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
