“Effervescent, ethereal and a little bit romantic” is how makeup artist Lynsey Alexander described the beauty look at Haider Ackermann. “It’s all about dimension, so it’s very blank,” she said. “We’re adding the highlights to give life back into the skin.” Working with MAC Cosmetics, Alexander paled down models’ faces with Studio Face and Body Foundation and bleached their eyebrows. For highlighting, she used Quik Trik Stick in Softly Does It, applied Groundwork for some shading contour and a tinge of Mixing Medium Shine on cheekbones. A touch of iridescent cream was dabbed on eyelids, while lips were kept bare. Hairstylist Katsuya Kamo took a cue from Haider Ackermann’s collection. “The clothes have a really long shape,” he said. “This hair is really simple.” He slicked hair back and divided it into various bunches. Each was then wrapped tightly along the entire length and elongated with colored pieces of velvet – material found in the fashion line – so that hair became long, multihued tentacles.
