At Max Azria Sunday afternoon, Charlotte Willer, Maybelline New York’s global makeup artist, described the look as “chic simplicity. Just like the girl that never tries but always looks perfectly put together.”
Willer used three of Maybelline’s Fit Me items, the foundation — applied with her hands — for a “perfect canvas”; concealer to cover dark circles, redness and imperfections, and a powder across the forehead, nose and chin.
A shimmery gray shade called Strut It Suede created sultry eyes (a product from the brand’s line of Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow that will launch in fall). Beige Bombshell went on the lips, a cream nude color that was quite subtle given its name. An additional spot of Bombshell was added to the middle of the bottom lip to finish off the look.
Meanwhile, Bumble and bumble editorial stylist Neil Moodie did a tomboy ponytail described as “pretty.” The style was inspired by the clothes — dresses styled with men’s outerwear.
Moodie first sprayed the hair while applying Bumble and bumble Prep, Styling Lotion and Thickening Hairspray. He then blew it out with a round brush. The ponytails were positioned at the lower crown of the head and were lightly pressed with a straightening iron.
