Classic, sporty beauty defined Michael Kors’ beauty look this season.
“The look is an evolution of last season’s,” said Dick Page, lead makeup artist. “It’s about making the girls look pretty and not competing with the clothes.” Using a brown MAC Cosmetics eye pencil, Page lined all around the eye, then smudged a bit of brown eye shadow on the lid. Lashes got a coat of MAC Cosmetics’ Zoom Lash. Page used bronzer from Kors’ cosmetics lineup with the Estée Lauder Cos. “to warm skin up,” and Kors’ Dame lipstick, a soft pink-nude.
Lead hairstylist Orlando Pita fashioned a slightly undone sporty updo. “It’s a bit fluid and moves on the runway, mimicking the fabric in the collection,” Pita said. He used texture paste at the roots and his own dry shampoo all over the hair for volume and texture, then braided hair at the back of the head, tucking it over and pinning it.
Jin Soon Choi chose Intrigue, a grayish beige, for fingers and toes. “Michael likes to use nude colors, so this was a little bit darker than I expected him to use,” said Choi. “But it really works with the taupe, gray and white in this collection.”
