Patrik Ervell was inspired by the weather and the wilderness in his homage to iconic outdoor brands. Following suit, Holli Smith, lead hairstylist for Moroccanoil, looked to create something sporty. “Because there are 10 girls and 15 boys, I thought it would be perfect to do something that was wet,” said Smith. She sculpted the boys with flicks and bits showing off their faces, and for the girls, Smith slicked back the hair and tucked the front strands behind the ears. To achieve the look, Smith used two types of Moroccanoil Luminous Spray; the medium hold to work on the hair and the strong hold to finish the style.
Maki Ryoke, lead makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics, wanted to keep it chic while incorporating Ervell’s wilderness inspiration. Ryoke used a shimmery aqua-colored pigment to bring out some of the colors in the collection and kept the skin shimmery while highlighting the high planes and cheekbones. Then Ryoke applied MAC’s Haute and Naughty Too Black Lash to accentuate the eyes and topped off the lips with a dab of concealer and lip balm.
