Duffy tapped Nubian queens for inspiration for hair backstage at PPQ Saturday. “Nubian women are distinguished, regal and very elegant,” said the hairstylist.

Working with Shu Uemura Silk Oil, Satin Design White Tea Polishing Milk and Sheer Lacquer, Duffy wrapped multiple twisted hair extensions around a conical mesh structure to create the impression of a mass of hair. Some braids were wrapped around the front of the head, too.

The show’s makeup look, created by Shu Uemura’s international artistic director Kakuyasu Uchiide, focused on eyes.

“I was inspired by the Sixties and The Supremes,” said Uchiide, who applied false eyelashes featuring white zigzag designs created by Shu Uemura in collaboration with PPQ.

The lashes will go on sale in Selfridges and in Shu Uemura stores in the U.K. in February. Uchiide also used Nobara foundation, blush in shade 23, Painting Liner in black, Cream Eye Shadow in black and a blend of lipstick in shades 366 and 940.
