At Ralph Lauren, the designer presented two collections — Polo and Ralph Lauren Collection — necessitating two beauty looks.
“The Polo line is younger and very natural,” said Guido Palau, working with Redken at the show. He let hair dry naturally, made a “messy center part,” then added Redken’s Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two-Day Extender for texture. For Collection, he aimed for a more sophisticated look, he spritzed Redken’s Satinwear into hair and blew it silky-straight. He then pulled hair back into a simple ponytail, wrapping a piece of hair around the elastic to hide it and using Redken hair spray to eliminate flyaways.
Lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux chose a “beautiful, healthy, glowy” look for the show. “The Collection look is a continuity of Ralph’s pre-fall look,” he noted. “I was calling it Fifty Shades of Dove.” He mixed multiple shades of Tom Ford bronzer and highlighter, as well as peach and apricot blushes together, brushing the mixture all over the face for warmth. “It’s not even sun-kissed — it’s just healthy,” he said. He applied black mascara on the top lashes, and added the Ford bronzer and highlighter on cheekbones to slightly contour, also applying the highlighter to eyelids for a wet, shiny feeling. He brushed brows to groom them, then applied ChapStick to the lips to finish.
