PARIS — “The makeup at Rochas is slightly weird, but beautiful at the same time,” said Lucia Pieroni, who noted it had a touch of filmmaker Tim Burton. “You know — when it’s sort of that hollowed-out eye, a little bit purple, kind of a prune-y gray color.”
Working with Clé de Peau Beauté products, she used the brand’s number 212 Eye Color Quad and Enriched Lip Luminizer in Fabulous Fig.
Burton’s wife, actress Helena Bonham Carter, was another inspiration.
Eugene Souleiman – who fashioned highly textured updos – also said he felt that the look needed to be “a bit Winona Ryder,” (who starred in Burton’s “Edward Scissorhands”) “Adams Family-esque” and “a little crazy.” Product-wise, he used Wella’s Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Hairspray.
