Models were pretty in pink at the Tibi show Tuesday evening. Makeup artist Bobbi Brown used shades from a face palette, called Peony & Python, that she created for the show. “It’s the combination of pretty and strong. Tibi used the word ‘edgy,’” said Brown of the look. The edge in this case was a stroke of Black Ink Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner, applied with a brush. Brown mixed and layered cool-tone eye shadows on the lids. The pretty was luminescent skin and a touch of pink on the cheeks and lips. She brushed Desert Pink blush onto the apples of the cheeks and then gave it some oomph by applying Rose Highlighter (in pen form) on top. On lips she applied Lilac Rich Lip Color, then patted the color down with her fingertips. She finished by working Extreme Party Mascara onto the lashes. Referring to the eye shadows in the Peony & Python palette, Brown said, “I went for color tones. The challenge is to create grays that do not appear blue or brown.” From a glance at the finished look, mission accomplished.
Hairstylist Kevin Ryan at Rsession Tools created a simple, chic hair style. He began with a low side part, smoothing strands with the Rsession Pin Point Straightening Iron. “I get right on the edges, and it’s hot on the back so I can do flips and turns,” he said of Pin Point. He finished by tying the hair into a low ponytail.
