PARIS — Models walking the Valentino fall 2014 show had their long tresses pulled back into a ponytail, which was then cinched intermittently to create what looked like little balls.
“It is very sort of a late Sixties, Seventies kind of an idea,” said hairstylist Guido Palau.
Working with Redken products, Palau used Guts 10 Volume Spray Foam to prepare hair (with added hair extensions), then blow-dried tresses straight before tying them off. Next he spritzed on Forceful 23 Super Strength Finishing Spray.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath groomed models’ eyebrows and kept their skin natural, with a slight pale powder on the outside of cheeks.
“So we’re very much playing again with light and shade, but this time with a little bit of eccentricity using this pale gray-blue eyeliner around the eye,” said McGrath.
On lips, she applied some concealer and lip balm.
