Pretty was the order of the day at Carolina Herrera’s show Monday morning. Orlando Pita, working for Moroccanoil at the show, created an elegant updo shot through with strands of seed beads. Pita started by adding Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to the hair for frizz-fighting and texture, then blowdrying it and adding Moroccanoil’s Luminous Hair spray for texture. Pita then parted hair from ear to ear 1 1/2 inches back on the head and placed a heavily beaded headband with trailing strands of beads on the part, covering the band with hair and weaving the strands throughout the hair. He then twisted the hair and beads into a knot at the back of the head, then tucking the knot under and pinning it. Pita finished with a spritz of hair spray.
Diane Kendal, working with MAC Cosmetics at the show, continued the pretty-girl theme on models’ faces. She started by applying foundation all over the face, then running MAC’s Restrospeck, a pale brown, from lid to brow. Down Brown eye shadow was used in the contour of the eye, with a black cream liner and tons of mascara on the top and bottom lashes. Kendal added a peach blush flecked with gold shimmer to the apples of the cheeks and finished with MAC’s neutral Twig lipstick. “It’s intended to be a timeless, classic look,” added Kendal.
