From origamilike structure to coiled rolls, hair took an intricate turn. Orlando Pita for Moroccanoil styled a modern Forties roll at Carolina Herrera, while Rolando Beauchamp for Bumble and bumble generated a Twenties-inspired look centered around finger waves at Naeem Khan. Odile Gilbert, working with Kérastase, fashioned a “chic and elegant” chignon at Jason Wu. And at Kimberly Ovitz, Antoinette Beenders for Aveda created coiled, corseted ponytails. Beenders looked to armor and the shell of an armadillo for inspiration. “Think of a Twenties wave in a futuristic interpretation,” said Beenders, “just touched with danger.”
