PARIS — “We wanted to create a hairstyle that would move softly,” hairstylist Luigi Mureno said at the Viktor & Ralf show, where ballet dancers modeled the couture collection en pointe.

Their hair was frizzed, with a part falling over faces, making features only slightly visible.

“So it’s like an illusion of full makeup,” said Pat McGrath. “But we’re playing with highlights, and we’re playing with wings [on eyes]. So, in a way we are playing with dance makeup. It’s about paling out the skin to match the clothes.”

“It’s very artistic,” continued Mureno, who used Kérastase Laque Couture spray. “It is very conceptual.”
