‘Real’ Housewives Fete New Skincare Line
Ramona Singer, the blonde, business-savvy Real Housewife of New York City, gathered with her fellow castmates on Tuesday night to celebrate the launch of her skin care line, Tru Renewal, at Equinox Spa on 74th Street in Manhattan.
At the event were New York City housewives Jill Zarin, Luann deLesseps, Alex McCord and Kelly Killoren Bensimon.
Tru Renewal facials were offered alongside wine and snacks, as Bravo cameras caught some of the action for the show’s second season.
“To stay looking young, it is a combination of working out and the right skin care,” said Singer, who plans to expand her line’s rollout to additional Equinox locations. “If your skin and body look great, you can wear a T-shirt and jeans and look amazing.”
Singer’s line, originally launched in spring 2008 on Truerenwal.com, is based on a combination of oxygen and green algae. “Oxygen makes the ingredients penetrate deeply into the skin,” said Singer.
Products in the line were developed by New York-based plastic surgeon Sharon Giese and are priced from $27 for a cleanser to $110 for Algae Boost. The Tru Renewal range includes the Ultra Repair Cream, formulated with silica-rich bamboo; the Oxygenated Algae Boost, which delivers liquid oxygen and seaweed extract to stimulate collagen and smooth lines; the Ultimate Eye Repair, with red algae, and a mild cleanser designed for everyday use.
“I wanted to make it easy,” said Singer. “A lot of women don’t have time for a skin care regimen. This makes it simple.” Singer said her line helps battle hyperpigmentation, roseacea, and wrinkles while protecting against free radicals and environmental elements alike.
