While it was certainly a sad year with the passing of Evelyn Lauder, 2011 also marked the death of three other people who left imprints on the mass beauty business.


Recently, Jane McEntyre lost her life to cancer, only a short time after her diagnoses. While McEntyre might not be a name instantly recognized in the retail realm, she was a public relations force behind many launches that are thriving on shelves today such as Caboodles. In fact, she helped a former Wal-Mart executive, Chris McClain, get a then fledgling Advanced Beauty Systems off the ground. Its Bodycology is now one of the top skin and bath brands in the entire business.
