Talk about a beautiful friendship. In 2011, Clarins and FEED joined forces and rolled out limited-edition signature makeup and tote bags, chock-full of Clarins’ top-selling skin-care products, to department and specialty stores. Depending on their contents and size, the bags provided between 10 and 25 school meals to hungry children worldwide. This year, the partners upped their efforts and staged the Clarins Million Meals Concert for FEED at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. The event—featuring performances by John Legend, Natasha Bedingfield and special guest Bill Clinton—generated one million meals in one night. “The dream is that no child in the world is without food,” said Christian Courtin-Clarins, chairman of Groupe Clarins, who in May traveled with FEED cofounder Lauren Bush Lauren to Honduras to see the organization’s work firsthand. In the last 12 months, Clarins and Feed have already reached their original goal of raising one million meals over the course of two years; their intent now is to double it. Said Courtin-Clarins, “We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.”
