“A soft chignon is very womanly, very sophisticated,” said hairstylist Guido Palau at Lanvin, where he swept models’ tresses to the tops of their heads, then swirled them around into loose knots.

Palau used three different Redkin products: Thickening Lotion, Forceful finishing spray and Vinyl Glam for shine.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath conceived a feminine, slightly smudgy-eyed look. Models’ eyelids were colored in black – with product such as Cover Girl’s Smoky Shadow Blast – then some of the pigment was wiped away and Eight Hour Cream was applied.

“It’s like they’ve been dancing all night,” said McGrath.
