NEW YORK — When it comes to seductive positioning, it’s hard to beat Victoria’s Secret. So when the lingerie company’s beauty division was looking for a way to promote its new fragrance, called Basic Instinct, it took a page out of the VS playbook. But instead of a Fantasy Bra, the company came up with a Basic Instinct Fantasy Gift — a $300,000 bottle of the new fragrance decked out in 52 carats of diamonds that the well-heeled purchaser could attach to a black leather choker.
