At the J.Mendel show on Wednesday afternoon, makeup artist Gucci Westman for Revlon used cool girl immersed in luxury as a muse. She began by dabbing a bit of gloss on the eyelids, followed by a copper-colored ColorStay Smoky Shadow Stick to create a “greasy eye.” She applied black liner at the corners of the eye and PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara in black on the lashes. On skin, she used primer followed by Nearly Naked foundation, along with highlighter along the cheeks and nose. She imparted a gentle flush on cheeks using a chubby-shaped pink balm called Baby Sticks for Lips & Cheeks in Pink Passion, which is due out in April. Lips were offset in a nearly transparent brick shade.
For nails, manicurist Jin Soon used a flesh-colored tone from the Revlon ColorStay collection called Trade Winds for what she described as a “simple, classic look.” She said the nail trend for fall centers on “matching your skin tone.”
For the hair, Neil Moodie sought to strike a balance between “effortless and a little bit done.” He said, “It’s very easy for people to achieve. Women want new ways to tie their hair back.” He began by applying thickening spray and blowdrying the hair smoothly at the top of the head to create shine. He then combed hair into a natural-looking side part, and tied the length into a ponytail at the nape of the neck. He finished by loosening several strands around the face.
