LONDON — Rita Hayworth and Impressionist paintings inspired looks backstage at Vivienne Westwood Red Label Sunday.

Hairstylist Peter Gray, who was working with L’Oréal Professionnel, worked hair into gentle waves reminiscent of screen siren Hayworth. He prepped hair with Série Expert conditioning spray, and adapted his use of styling products, including Tecni.Art Hot Style Constructor and Tecni.Art Volume Riche Mousse, to each models’ hair type.

“We’re looking at the hair’s texture and treating each girl as an individual,” he said.

Center-parted hair was blow dried before being curled around large tongs and pinned. It was later gently brushed out.

MAC Cosmetics’ Gordon Espinet, meanwhile, dappled in a painterly palette for makeup.

“Imagine light on a face that has color to it,” he said of the look, which he achieved using MAC Pro Paint Sticks to created irregular splashes of color on models’ faces.
