“We want to turn the girls into boys,” said makeup artist Petros Petrohilos backstage at Paul Smith. “Of course, they’re really beautiful boys.”
Petrohilos, who was working with MAC Cosmetics, brushed up brows and lined eyes with an almost imperceptible slick of Eye Pencil in Coffee. He patted blush in So Sweet So Easy on cheeks and gave skin a dewy finish using clear gloss on the bridge of the nose and cheekbones. Pouts were finished with a smidge of lip stain Good To Be Bad.
Peter Gray also took a masculine tack for hair.
“There’s a rockabilly Teddy Boy feeling,” said the stylist, adding he used L’Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Volume Riche mousse to give hair “guts.”
Hair was then twisted into a chignon at the back of the head, while a section at the front was curled using tongs, before being worked into a rockabilly shape.
