Makeup was muted and soft at Reem Acra’s Sunday presentation. “The clothes are so elegant,” said Polly Osmond of MAC Cosmetics. “So we kept the makeup fresh and young for a bit of balance — it’s sort of a goddess theme.” To articulate this, Osmond created a “glossy look,” highlighting the cheek and upper brow with MAC’s Gloss Texture before matting down the T-Zone with the brand’s Invisible Powder. On lips, she applied concealer “to take down the gloss just a little bit,” and then added the brand’s Shy Girl Lipstick under its Boy Bait lip gloss.Eyes were given goddesslike depth by applying a taupe eye shadow on lids, followed by MAC’s Root Cream Color Base.
Hair at Reem Acra received the red-carpet treatment in the hands of stylist Laurent Philippon, who created a flipped, side-swept bun on behalf of Bumble and bumble. “The modernity comes from the architecture in the really low side part that frames the face,” said Philippon. “The asymmetry of it is just right.” To achieve this, he prepped wet hair with the brand’s styling lotion, before drawing a very deep side part with a dryer and flat brush. He then pulled hair into a low side ponytail before twisting and pinning it up into an elegant side bun. To cap off the look, Philippon spritzed hair with Bumble and bumble’s Spray du Mode for shine and finish.
