Backstage at Dsquared on Monday, the makeup look was in line with the spring collection’s theme: Glamping, which is Dan and Dean Caten’s word for camping in style.
Hairstylist Sam McKnight fashioned the hair in several braids, then “destroyed” them by pulling out pieces. McKnight used mousse before he plaited locks to give the freshly shampooed hair texture. MAC Cosmetics’ Gordon Espinet said he focused on getting the skin glowing using MAC’s new essential oil blends before applying Fix Plus foundation. He worked on two looks for the show, a tomboy face that required full eyebrows and clear skin, and “girly girls,” who had pretty coral tinted lips, black mascara and bronzer on the cheekbones.
While Espinet and McKnight worked their magic, facialist Michelle Peck gave oxygen facials with Intraceuticals products to the designers and to tired models. “I do it for Madonna before every show and event so why not for the catwalk?” said Peck.
