PARIS — “Graphic and architectural” is how hairstylist Orlando Pita described the long coif he conceived for the Elie Saab fall 2012 runway show. He gleaned inspiration from the designer’s collection.
So, too, did makeup artist Tom Pecheux, who said after he saw the clothes, he decided to “sculpt” the face with the same colors as Saab’s fashions.
“So it’s a lot of taupe, beige and black,” said Pecheux. He made skin matte and gave eyebrows some mascara for contrast. Mouths were swept with a mauve tone.
Key MAC Cosmetics products Pecheux used included Smut and Vanilla for eyes and Harvest — which is part of next winter’s palette — on mouths.
