“Ragazza in vacanza,” or “girl on vacation” in English, was the direction designer Anna Molinari gave to the hair and makeup team backstage at Blumarine on Friday.

A sun-kissed, gorgeous girl on holiday was the face MAC Cosmetics makeup artist Lloyd Simmonds went after to capture Molinari’s vision. “It’s sculpted with fresh skin, a slightly smoky eye — really pretty,” explained Simmonds.

Simmonds applied MAC’s antiqued gold powder to the cheeks to get a warmed-by-the-sun look. Lined with black eyeliner and defined with black mascara, eyelids were shaded with a subtle taupe shadow and finished in the inner corners with a dab of shiny tan Pro Gloss, which was also applied to the lips.

Long, brushed out wavy hair with a center part added a dose of glamour to the face. Sam McKnight used Pantene’s Volume and Body mousse in the locks before curling pieces with a hot tong, brushing and spritzing with Pantene’s Volume and Body hairspray. “It’s sexy and more luxurious than beach hair. It has a more groomed and soft finish,” said McKnight.
