It was all about the big bold eyes at Narciso Rodriguez.
“We were after a much stronger and more graphic statement this season in comparison to previous years,” said Dick Page, artistic director for Shiseido The Makeup. “For contrast, we wanted an aggressive eye and soft cheek and lip.”
To create the look, he used thick black liner on the top and bottom of the eyes along with a heavy application of mascara. Right before the show, he applied grease over the liner “to help keep the intensity in the expression.”
To capture a fresh and soft look, Page blended Shiseido’s rosy and bronze Accentuating Color Stick on the cheeks and a soft reddish pink lipstick called Salon, which was dabbed onto the center of the lips.
For hair, Eugene Souleiman was inspired by men’s hair. “It’s that dodgy Eighties haircut with a bob in the back but square in front with a strong silhouette” said Souleiman. The hair was pinned back in a low-tucked underbob with pieces pulled out. To draw out the roots, he used Wella’s High Hair Ocean Sprizz.
