NEW YORK — Joseph S. Lamia, executive vice president of sales at Revlon North America, has left as part of a management streamlining.

“Joe’s position was eliminated in an effort to bring management closer to our retail accounts,” said a Revlon spokeswoman.

Lamia had been responsible for the classic Revlon cosmetics and fragrances as well as for Almay. He reported to Jack Hall, who also holds the title of executive vice president, but who has broader responsibilities.

Reached at home, Lamia said he has not set any plans.

Lamia joined Revlon in June 1992, but spent the previous 24 years at the L’Oreal cosmetics and fragrances division of Cosmair Inc. Lamia rose through the ranks there to become the vice president of sales.

Lamia began his career as a salesman at Clairol.
