The beauty look at the Luca Luca show Sunday was strong and structural. Lips were the center point, channeling Thirties film actress Jean Harlow. “I wanted to do something strong this season,” said makeup artist James Kaliardos for MAC Cosmetics as he colored in a model’s lips with lip pencil in shade Vino. “It’s about precision and it’s graphic.” To complete the look, he placed false lashes at the edges of both the upper and the lower lashes. And dabbed the eyelid with gloss. The strong look was designed to play off of Luca Luca’s collection, which Kaliardos described as “sculptural.”

Hairstylist Ted Charles, for Cutler, created a sculpted look by parting the hair to the side, gathering hair in a ponytail at the crown of the head and winding it into a slightly off-center bun with the ends exposed. Using Cutler Volumizing Spray he created a bit of texture. “You start with clean, smooth hair and mess it up a bit,” he said.

Manicurist Myrdith Leon-McCormack layered two M2M polish shades, Havana Nights (metallic red) and Glam Slam to create some dimension. “We shouldn’t be afraid of color, she advised.
