At Christian Dior, inspiration for the makeup by Pat McGrath and hairstyles by Orlando Pita came from five sources — the idea of a “boy,” Billie Holiday, Josephine Baker, “The Great Gatsby” and Marlene Dietrich.

Unifying all of the looks were thin eyebrows, whose lines were made with hard pencil, and textured hair, resulting from spritzes of salt water.
