PARIS — French actress Mélanie Thierry is to be the face of the next Yves Saint Laurent women’s fragrance, due out later this year, according to industry sources.
A YSL Beauté spokesman would not comment on the speculation.
Thierry is a swiftly rising star. She was on Saturday awarded a César (the French equivalent of the Oscars) in the “meilleur espoir feminine” (best up-and-coming female actress) category for her acting in “Le dernier pour la route.”
The 28-year-old has been in movies and in plays, including “Babylon A.D.” and “Largo Winch.”
The star-studded cast of YSL faces already includes the likes of Kate Moss and Vincent Cassel.
Meanwhile, it was announced Thursday that French singer and actor Marc Lavoine will front advertising for the Cerruti 1881 men’s fragrance starting in June. The scent was introduced in 1990.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
