All American aptly summed up the beauty looks at Michael Kors on Wednesday.
“We’re doing a simple, sporty, Michael Kors American beauty,” said Dick Page, working with Shiseido at the show. Page started by prepping the face with a light wash of Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation, then added a mix of two Luminizing Satin Face Colors in High Beam White and Soft Beam Gold to the tops of the cheekbones and then the eyelids.
Next, he applied Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trio over the luminizer, customizing the color to each model’s coloring. Many got a sweep of a mix of the Opera palette, a deep charcoal that will be released in September. He added one coat of black mascara on top lashes only. Next, he applied blush combinations — customized to the models’ coloring — to the apple of the cheeks; many got a mix of Shiseido shades Tea Rose and Shell. Page finished with Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipstick in Caramel, applying it with a brush.
Orlando Pita took inspiration from an Arthur Elgort photo of models Patti Hansen and Lisa Taylor, taken in the Seventies for American Vogue.
“It’s a very messy, undone pony,” Pita said. He applied T3’s Elevate to the hair, then backcombed the hair at the crown. “You don’t want to get a whole lot of volume — so to avoid that, I am holding the hair flat above the ears, then teasing the roots with a comb.” To finish, Pita pulled the hair back and fastened with a clear elastic band.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
