Tommy Hilfiger’s well-known for the all-American prepster look — and beauty at his show Wednesday definitely reflected that aesthetic. Lisa Butler, working with MAC Cosmetics, was after a “modern American look,” which she achieved with three shades of MAC foundation per model. “With this technique, you get full coverage without a mask-like look and also add a sculptural quality to the face,” she explained. Butler used Perky, a flesh-shade cream eye shadow, on eyelids, with a smoky MAC Paint Pot under the bottom lashes. “With cream shadows, you can apply with your fingers and still look groomed,” she said. A ginger lip shade — in a formulation MAC is testing for release in 2008 — finished the face.
Didier Malige kept things simple up top, misting a comb with L’Oréal’s Elnett hair spray and combing through models’ hair repeatedly. He added bobby pins to the sides to keep hair flat while the hair spray dried, then removed the pins.
