Natural beauty inspired the looks at Max Azria Tuesday afternoon. Charlotte Willer, working with Maybelline at the show, first prepped skin with Maybelline mineral liquid foundation, then defined the brow with a Maybelline pencil. Next, she applied a generous helping of Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara in black, pulling it slightly outward for a cat’s-eye effect. Willer then used an orange Maybelline lipstick, concocted especially for the show, to finish. “We used the lipstick as a stain and sheered it out by using fingers to apply,” she explained. Some of the models also got a quick application of mineral powder to eliminate shine.
Bob Recine, working with MoroccanOil at the show, devised a “beautiful, clean, healthy” ponytail. He began by blow-drying hair with a flat paddle brush, then sectioning hair and repeatedly brushing the dry sections with a paddle brush sprayed with MoroccanOil hair spray to eliminate frizzies. “Spraying the brush rather than directly on the hair makes it smooth, but not stiff looking,” explained Recine. “I want it to look flat, but not flat-ironed.” He pulled the hair back tightly into a high ponytail, using clear cord to finish.
