P&G Beauty Promotes Drosos

Marc Pritchard is getting some help at P&G Beauty with the appointment of Virginia "Gina" Drosos as vice president and general manager of Global Cosmetics.

NEW YORK — Marc Pritchard is getting some help at P&G Beauty with the appointment of Virginia “Gina” Drosos as vice president and general manager of Global Cosmetics.

Drosos will assume the duties Pritchard continued to shoulder after he was promoted to president of Global Cosmetics and Hair Colorants. Drosos, who will report to him effective July 1, will be based in Hunt Valley, Md.

Pritchard identified Drosos as a P&G star who was instrumental in repositioning the Olay brand and nurturing its spectacular rise. According to P&G, its global skin care sales have doubled in the past four years and Olay has joined the select circle of billion-dollar brands.

After joining P&G in Cincinnati in 1987, Drosos held a number of management and marketing positions in Beauty Care before becoming general manager for North America Skin Care and Global Skin Care Design in 2000.

In 2003, Drosos relocated to the Geneva office as vice president of Western Europe Personal Beauty Care and Global Skin Care Design.

While in Europe, she is credited with strengthening the innovative and marketing capabilities of the skin care and cosmetics business there, setting the stage for a continuation and acceleration of growth.

Her former duties will be assumed by Michael D. Kuremsky, general manager of North America Skin Care, who will handle global skin care design responsibilities. He will continue to report to Paolo deCesare, president of Global Skin Care & Global Personal Care. Kuremsky will continue to be based in Cincinnati.

Also, Hanneke Faber, currently marketing director for Western Europe Styling and Color, has been named general manager of Western Europe Personal Care, which also was handled by Drosos. Faber will continue to report to deCesare and remain based in Geneva.
