PARIS — For Yohji Yamamoto’s fall 2012 runway show, half of models had their tresses swept up into a chignon. For the rest, hair hung down straight with a swath of red or blue strands added by hairstylist Eugene Souleiman and his team.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath painted black onto models’ top lips and the lower half of their bottom lips, whose middle was left a blood red. The center point of models’ Cupid’s bows got a touch of gold, as did the inside corner of their eyes, which otherwise were lined in black on the outside edges.

Eyelids also got a lick of pinkish-red shadow.
