It was all about elegance backstage at Ralph Rucci.
Hair by Laurent Philippon for Bumble and bumble was made up of a slicked-back, half-up knotted hairstyle. “It’s Zen couture,” said Philippon, who used superskinny hair pins from Japan to hold the style in place. “It’s a very simple knot that’s done with the hair. It looks simple but it’s f–ing not.”
Tom Pecheux, for MAC, concentrated on a clean face and a strong eye to complement the collection.
“Today we are doing a very young Ralph Rucci woman,” said Pecheux, who used MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack to create the thick cat eye. “We keep the face very fresh, just black eyeliner, not too wingy but pretty, just to give elegance, coolness and a bit of black.” Of his overall inspiration for the look, Pecheux said simply “beauty.”
