PARIS — “It’s romantic, in a way, with a punk edge” is how makeup artist Pat McGrath described the beauty look for the John Galliano show.

“The hair is more romantic; the makeup is [edgier],” continued hairstylist Orlando Pita.

For the coif, he used Schwarzkopf’s Osis texture powder and its dry shampoo. “We’re creating a really matte texture, and then we’re waving the hair — but with a straightening iron because we don’t want common girl curls, those bad barrel curls,” Pita explained. “So we’re doing it just to create a little wave.”

Afterward, tresses were tied back low and he fashioned a “messy bun.”

McGrath created a slightly smoky eye on models’ top lids, with white liner close to the lashes there, and put black liner under peepers.
