MILAN — To compliment the “pure, modern sensibility” of Jil Sander’s designs, hairstylist Guido Palau went for “simple, easy, minimal hair.”

Damp hair was blow-dried “stick-straight” with Redken Satinwear 02 and gathered into a low, pendulous ponytail with the sides covering the ears. It was secured with a black elastic band, which was gently pulled down “to add softness and to give a bit more style than a tight ponytail,” Palau explained.

Makeup artist Pat McGrath focused on concocting glowing, natural complexions. Faces were masked, scrubbed and exfoliated. Blush was relegated for an emphasis on fresh skin and bright eyes.

A light brown shadow was shaded from the eyelids to the eyebrows. Mascara-free eyelashes were curled. A cream tone on the lips was given an additional layer of neutral foundation.
