Hollywood’s over-40 set was out in full force this season—to great effect. “These women aren’t trying to look too young or too old, so the whole picture works,” says hairstylist Oscar Blandi. “They have an idea of what they want to look like and they are clearly comfortable and confident.” Says Abergel, who created Tomei’s Oscar look, “It’s all about creating shine in the hair and thinking about softness and movement and nothing too harsh or too tight. It’s about creating sexiness and femininity.” When it comes to makeup, less is more. “Toning things down helps maintain youthfulness and lets the radiance of the skin show,” says Dubrof.
"I think that all anyone really wants in life is to have people understand us for who we actually are, despite everything," says Ruth Negga. The actress talks "Preachers" season 2 and more on WWD.com. #wwdeye (📷: Dan Doperalski)
"That's something that resonates with me too because I'm so locked into a number. If I go over that number it completely ruins my day so it's nice to get detached from the number on the scale." - Chelsea Handler on Kelly LeVeque's book "Body Love." #wwdeye (📷: John Salangsang)
