PARIS — Roger Vivier’s debut fragrances are for the well-heeled.

Clients of the storied French shoemaker were kept in mind by its executives when concocting the five signature scents for women, which will be sold exclusively in the brand’s boutiques starting at the end of September or early October. The project is being unveiled during couture week in Paris alongside Vivier’s latest accessories collection.Vivier brand ambassador Inès de la Fressange briefed Rami Mekdachi, olfactory director on the project, on the house’s history and her personal aesthetic, including memories of fragrance. After trying out many scents, they settled on five.

“Luxury is about not having to choose,” said de la Fressange.

Each scent highlights one key ingredient: iris, neroli, rose, sandalwood or amber. The fragrances come in flacons with square gold caps, in step with the brand’s signature shoe buckle. The 50-ml. eau de toilette sprays will each sell for 145 euros, or $181.75 at current exchange.
