NEW YORK — Saks Inc. announced Thursday that it has entered into an agreement with Penhaligon’s to open store-in-store boutiques in many of its Saks Fifth Avenue stores over the next several years.

The first locations to get the boutiques will be Houston, Texas; Miami, Fla; Las Vegas, Nev.; Tysons Corner, Va.; San Francisco, Calif.; and Chicago, Ill., in the fall of 2002. Saks Fifth Avenue currently houses a leased Penhaligon’s boutique in its New York flagship that will be converted into an owned boutique. In its markets, Saks Fifth Avenue will be the exclusive point of distribution for Penhaligon’s-branded products, along with the freestanding Penhaligon’s stores.
Penhaligon’s, established in the U.K. in 1870, produces fragrances, skin care products, home fragrances, and gift items, including baby items, silver, and leather goods. The company is now owned by Cradle Holdings, Inc.”
