I love Boucheron, but either my friends or I buy it while out of the country because it's $10 to $15 cheaper. I just bought [Arden's] Sunflowers, and it lasts as long as the more expensive brands."
Sherita Henderson, 31, in advertising sales, said, "I buy fragrances at department stores because there I can find a variety of prices and brands. I shop around though. I'll buy a fragrance and the body lotion. My friends usually buy me the more expensive brands."
So Young, a 25-year-old student, said, "I only wear men's fragrances, such as Perry Ellis and Chanel, and I can only find them at department stores. Generally fragrances are too expensive."
LaShon Coleman, a 26-year-old office manager, said, "I don't spend more than $45 on a bottle of perfume. I shop at the department stores, especially [Marshall] Field's, and I buy the body lotions. I wear Estee Lauder's White Linen."
Print model and actress Saundra Leigh, 50, said, "Fragrances are definitely worth the money. [Christian] Dior is a classic, and when you use the skin softener along with it, you get twice the benefit. The new French perfumes concentrate too much on the packaging and not enough on the scent. They all smell the same."
Ann Smith, 47, a clerk, said, "Discount stores are the way to go because department stores are too expensive. My favorite fragrances are Ralph Lauren's Safari, [Giorgio's] Wings and [Marilyn Miglin's] Destiny. I am easily persuaded by free gift offers. I smelled Elizabeth Arden's Sunflowers, but it was too heavy. The price was good, though. I layer Safari, starting with the body cream, next the body powder and then the perfume.
Chris Vieaux, 34, an auto mechanic, said, "My wife buys her own perfume, but the last time I bought her some it cost less than $15. The department store brands are overpriced. You're only buying the name."Chrystie Shelton, a 23-year-old dietician, said, "I just moved here, but I usually went to Nordstrom. I wear Calvin Klein's Obsession. I have to like the bottle as well as the scent."
Nikki Kodjayan, 21, a student, said, "My signature scent is [Guerlain's] Samsara. I wear the perfume and body lotion. I'd pay any price at department stores for it. I love the suede box Dolce & Gabbana came in."
Twenty-year-old student Natasha Alden said, "[Klein's] Escape is sassy, especially the bottle. I shop at department stores for it. I either receive it as a gift or I buy it for myself. It doesn't matter what the price is."
Blanca Bracamontes, 33, a salesperson, said, "I have to have perfume like I have to have my nails polished. I get very particular when selecting a cologne over a parfum. They don't smell the same. I've received [Jean Patou's] Sublime and [Dior's] Dune as gifts. I shop at Neiman Marcus or Field's, and I won't spend more than $80."

Amid the Harvey Weinstein controversy, there’s another sector that’s being put under the spotlight for sexual abuse: the modeling industry. While rumors about abuse and sexual harassment of female and male models — and the photographers, agents and others who perpetrated it — have circulated within the fashion world for years, model @cameronrussell started posting stories from models on Instagram last week about abusive situations they’ve encountered — from sexual harassment and molestation to attempted rape.
