MILAN — Makeup artist Peter Philips played with highlights and shading for Fendi’s fall runway.
“We didn’t want to make a statement with a strong color or a graphic element,” he explained.
First, a full-cover foundation was matched to skin tone in a semi-matte finish. Cheeks were highlighted with a matte, pure-white highlighter, followed by dark taupe shading.
Make Up For Ever Matte Eye Shadow in Number 165 and 17 was blended out of the lids and dropped onto the outer corner of the eyes. Clear Make Up For Ever Super Lip Gloss gave a transparent sheen to models’ natural lip color.
Hairstylist Sam McKnight went for a woven, origami style.
“There’s a purity of line — simple, minimal, sharp and modern,” he said.
The hairline was smoothed out and two very low side parts were pulled over the front, combed and folded into a very simple basket-weave structure. Ends were tied into a low ponytail and secured with elastic.
Anchoring pins were removed before the models hit the runway, and hair was sprayed with Sebastian Spritz Forte.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
