PARIS — Makeup artist Noriko Okubo traced a black — or on occasion white — line under eyebrows to accentuate the otherwise natural beauty look.

“Her face is simple but strong,” said Okubo, pointing to a model backstage at Issey Miyake.

Okubo, who was representing Shiseido, used the brand’s Dual Balancing Foundation and its eyeliner pen.

“They’re like ghosts,” said hairstylist Hirofumi Kera, also for Shiseido, of the models. He tied low ponytails with one part dyed black and white. On two models, the stripe was dyed red.
