GLOBAL BEAUTY: Kyoku For Men is offering an east-meets-west take on men’s skin care. The nascent brand, which is based here, incorporates ingredients from Japan, including volcanic ash, into its formulas. Its lineup includes Daily Facial Cleanser, Exfoliating Facial Scrub, Facial Moisturizer, Oil Control Lotion, Razor Repair Balm and Lip Fuel, a lip balm. Prices in the U.K. range from $16.20 at current exchange, for a 10-ml. tube of Lip Fuel to $63.25 for a 50-ml. tube of Facial Moisturizer. “It started initially as a quest to find the best skin care products for myself,” said brand founder Dr. Asim Akhar, whose family runs a cosmetics manufacturing firm. Industry sources estimate the line will generate $1.5 million this year. Kyoku bowed on the brand’s e-tailing Web site in November. Akhar said it will begin selling through a U.K. department store later this month, though further details were not available at press time, and roll out to stores in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Tokyo and Hong Kong by 2010.
FURNISH FETISH: Agent Provocateur is offering a new take on drawers. The lingerie and beauty brand will introduce a Thirties-style trunk featuring storage compartments, a dressing table and mirror starting today. Dubbed the Agent Provocateur Marie Galante, the limited edition piece is finished with a pink leather exterior and black lacquered wood interior. Twenty-five trunks priced at $5,000 will be sold through selected Agent Provocateur stores and shop-in-shops as well as on the brand’s Web site.

The event will be held at the Union League Club in New York on Feb. 3 and will be hosted by television and radio personality Leeza Gibbons.
