Its top notes include Sicilian bergamot, Tunisian neroli, wild fennel flower and star anise. At its heart are oleander, tuberose, frangipani and purple vanilla orchid, while Madagascar clove, white amber, vetiver, vanilla Bourbon absolute and tonka notes are at its base. The cologne will be available as 30- and 100-ml. sprays, which will be priced at 32 pounds and 64 pounds, or $51.40 and $103 at current exchange, respectively, in the U.K. Jo Malone is owned by the Estée Lauder Cos Inc.
PURPLE PERFUME: Annick Goutal has tapped the mystical mandrake plant as the inspiration for its latest fragrance, Mandragore Pourpre. The scent, which will bow worldwide in August, comprises notes of bergamot, mint, star anis, amber, rosemary, geranium, black pepper, patchouli leaf, myrtle, incense and heliotrope. The unisex eau de toilette will be available in a 100-ml. square bottle priced in the United Kingdom at 59 pounds, or $95 at current exchange, or in a more feminine ribbed 100-ml. flacon for 71 pounds, or $114.
TALKING TRESSES: This month Charles Worthington, the London-based hairstylist, introduced Atelier Charles Worthington, a service meant to discern women’s perfect coifs based on their hair type, physiognomy and lifestyle. The 75-minute consultation, held in a private room in Worthington’s Percy Street salon, begins with a personality questionnaire followed by a one-on-one session with senior salon manager Mathew Soobroy. Mood boards and wigs help determine a perfect style and color. The consultation, which is priced at 75 pounds, or $122 at current exchange, finishes with a blow-dry master class.

24-year-old Jean Prounis is redefining the rules of jewelry. Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said.
