Dedier Malige, lead stylist for Fekkai, was inspired by the natural beauty of the models for the customized look he created at Thakoon’s spring show. “For this show there is not only one look or style,” said Malige. “I used the girls’ natural texture and adapted the style to what worked for them.” Malige used his fingertips to build a “loose texture. We want her to look almost untouched.” Malige infused volume into the style with Fekkai Full Blown Volume Styling Whip and defined the tousled waves with Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Tousled Wave Spray. He finished off the style with Fekkai Sheer Hold Spray to keep the loose curls locked in place.
Faces, made by Diane Kendal for Nars, were “bare, golden,” and made to look as though they were “glowing from within.” Kendal was inspired by the light airy clothing in the spring collection, using glowing shades and plenty of highlighter. Brows were filled in to “ground” the ethereal hues.
“The look is inspired by nature, clouds, linens,” said Kendal, who contoured cheeks with golden highlighter, which she dusted down the center of the face and nose. “We nuded out the lip,” said Kendal, who used Nars Pure Matte and a new Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Hopi. She then used beige eye shadow in the corner of the eye and lined underneath eyelids and above the eye, blending out. “It’s light but it’s strong,” said Kendal, who contoured eyes with a dark brown shadow and skipped on the mascara. The look was finished with a dusting of Nars blush in Laguna on the apples of the cheek. “We wanted to keep them cool, edgy and confident, and infuse them with pops of gold,” said Kendal.
