NEW YORK — Coty Beauty's The Healing Garden and singer Jewel kicked off the brand's "Save Your Skin, Save the Planet" campaign Wednesday.
Coty has recruited the songbird/poet as the face of The Healing Garden Organics’ advertising campaign, slated to break in September.
“As a songwriter, it’s hard to find partnerships you can feel good about,” said Jewel. She acknowledged that when it comes to choosing beauty products, “a lot of it comes down to convenience.” Jewel added that The Healing Garden Organics line makes it easy to do something good for the environment, noting that it’s luxurious and also supports organic farmers. “You’ll like it, selfishly, because it smells really good,” said Jewel.
John Galantic, president of Coty Beauty U.S., gushed that he’s a fan of the singer’s and said, “It’s very rare that you get great product and combine it with a great cause and a great spokesperson.”
During the print campaign, Coty will donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of Organics products to the Nature Conservancy. The Healing Garden will launch the effort in September with a gift-with-purchase promotion featuring a bracelet — made of organic materials — designed by Jewel. The singer will wear the bracelet in print ads that are slated to break in beauty books that month.
The Healing Garden introduced its first organic specialty bath collection, Organics Wild Honey, this month. Jewel — who is finishing her sixth album, due to be released this fall — has received accolades for her role as a humanitarian. In addition to her new project, she has worked with the Higher Ground for Humanity’s Clearwater Project, an organization that provides safe, clean drinking water to impoverished areas of the world.
