PARIS — Makeup artist Linda Cantello described the beauty look for Armani Privé as “Thirties glamour, but done in a kind of nude way.” “Death in Venice” and Carole Lombard were among the influences.

Cantello paled down models’ matte skin and applied a powdered stain to their lips and a glittery line to eyelids.

“Our nod to Hollywood,” noted Cantello, who was using Armani products.

Hairstylist Orlando Pita described coifs as “a short kind of wavy bob. It’s a little bit maybe Twenties-, Thirties-inspired, like ‘Great Gatsby’-ish — but not literally.”

Pita braided the underneath section of models’ hair, then waved the top loose layer with a curling iron and spritzed on some spray.
